How to know when PCD, CBN inserts need retipping
If your tools have not crashed to the point of being unrepairable, we can retip the PCD or CBN and you will be up and running. This can save your business money by recycling carbide and steel bodies.
Retip process
The process of retipping a PCD or CBN insert starts with laser cutting our tips from a diamond disc. The laser cutting process gives us a closer, more accurate cut to save cost on material than standard EDM wire cutting. We then braze the new diamond tip using either our induction brazing process or our new vacuum brazing process. We then laser cut the final cutting edge, giving us a new stronger product.
